Ireland's coast and islands are important for breeding auks. Guillemots are the most common species and are often found on cliff nest sites with the similar looking Razorbill. Black Guillemots can be found right around our coast nesting in rocky areas and harbour walls. The iconic Puffin can be found at number of sites on the west and north coasts, as well as Saltee in the south-east. All four of these species can be seen in summer on Rathlin Island.
