Return trip to the Black Guillemots
I enjoyed last weeks encounter with the Black Guillemots I decided that since the weather has held good I would return for more.
First though I travelled into the Antrim Hills in search of raptors. In a couple of hours from first light I picked up Sparrowhawk, Kestrel and Buzzard, as well as calling male Merlin. Unfortunately I did not contect with a Hen Harrier on this occassion.
I always enjoy the challenge of capturing birds in action especially in flight so I took the opportunity to get a few more action shots of the Guillemots. One of my inages from last year earned me a third place in the recent NIOC Work of Northern Ireland Bird Photographers competition.
On my return trip to Ballycastle I observed a pair of Peregrine close to the Antrim Coast road.
